There was nowhere to go, but everywhere, so I just kept rolling under the stars. - Jack Kerouac

The best thing is life is friendship. Knowing that someone truly understands you for who you are is one of the greatest feelings ever. To connect on another level and know that you were meant to find each other sooner or later. The best friendships are the ones that last through distance and time. I'll be doing CA with S. Winer soon. I can't wait to see the Pacific Ocean with her, drive down the coast, and talk about our horoscopes. It sure has been way too long. ps- the first photo was featured on Design Sponge. its a drawing from Jill Bliss' nature drawing journal. pretty awesome if you ask me.

summer dreams

I have recently sprung into spring mode and can't really get it off my mind off my adventures for this summer. This might be the best 3 months of my golden years yet.
I heading to Bonnaroo again this year and have rounded up a great group of friends to go with. And shortly after that I'll be heading out west to see my best friend in northern California for my first trip out that way. Its been a long time coming. On top of all the fantastic trips, I've been offered a graphic design position to work under my friend Mary for the summer. And best of all, they don't mind my vacationing!
I'll be living in the same place I'm at now for another year and am looking forward to grilling out and listening to records with my man when I am in Southern Illinois. Now all I have to do is get through these next 7 weeks of classes, and I'm summer free.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake.--Elizabeth Gilbert

Everytime I watch Amelie (bottom photo), it makes me wonderful instead and thankful to have someone to love. I am all about spending your time with someone special. Someone who makes you feel real and yourself.

To the new year...

I have been trying to expand my internet surfing the last few months and tend to be stuck on a few that I really admire. I still follow Free Peoples blog, but sometimes want something more. Design Sponge is a daily website dedicated to home space and product design. My favorite part is the sneak peaks of interior space and how unique some peoples homes really are.
The first site belongs to two illustrators whom I came across on the Sponge. The concert posters they designed are what drew me in.
The second site below is the home space of Lizzy Janssen, a Free People designer. The white cat in the bath tub was just adorable. She has a wonderful touch.
Hope this gets to someone who will appreciate.

Thats nice, isn't it? -edie

Thanksgiving break was nice, saw friends and feed my belly with lots of calories. With work I had to come back early, but that led me to put up my Christmas tree and get somewhat in the spirit. The first two photos are at my Moms house in Mt.Vernon of a tunic she got me from Lifes Little Perks. The next is clearly little Lottie Mae waiting anxiously for a nibble of ham. So cute.
Before I left for break, I watched the movie Factory Girl with some friends and couldn't get it off my mind since. Edie Sedgwick was truly remarkable and moving. I hope to learn more about her.
As for now, I'm just enjoying the rest of the semester. Waiting impatiently for break!!

i want to stand as close to the edge as i can without going over. out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can’t see from the center.” k.v.

The first two photographs were taken by eric kvatek, featured on Free Peoples blog on November 16. His website is just amazing, even if he does shot old cars and trucks a lot! I just threw this collage together for the hell of it. Love this fall weather.

I've been at a steady pace with school and work that I've come find myself excited over the smallest things. Successfully making two delicious dishes in one week, heading to the apple orchard for fall goodies, and putting on new attire is just a few simple things I've look forward too. I recently was shown the film, The Last Waltz, and can't get my mind of all that music. What great musicians they all were. I must download albums of The Band, or better yet I'll look into purchasing a record of theirs. For now I'll enjoy October.
