Good morning, all. It's early as I head out, and it does not look like a nice day. My day will be spent in the library finishing my Kitchen and Bath project, so weather won't really get in my way. I had a wonderful long weekend. Between working on my bird costume for Halloween and going to Boston for the day, I am still extremely exhausted. I did some new things and saw some new sights, therefore I am satisfied. It's hard to believe Halloween is approaching so soon. Pumpkin Fest in Keene this weekend with Ave. Hope everyone has festivities up their shelves. (The photos posted are shots from Boston. Savannah and I met up with her friend from school and had a nice Thai lunch. The second is a violinist in the Boston Park. It was beautiful.) Love, JO

These are from a blog, 'I'm a Polaroid - Where are you?' Someday I hope to get my hands on a vintage Polaroid or maybe Mom still has her old one some where in storage. I am not sure if its the unique color that is exposed in them or the fact that the photos are developed instantly, but I dig the outcome of almost every Polariod shot I've seen. Anywho...I am doing good up here on the east coast and am looking forward to the weekend. I'll partake in a night out with the roommate, Danielle, maybe a few homecoming events, and a Sunday in Boston with Savannah. I am looking forward to the second hand shops in Boston and a good lunch out. Hopefully we will find some things to begin our bird costomes for 10/31! That's all for now. Have a good one. Love, JO

Knitting mends the soul.

Sundays are best day of the week. It is the one day you are supposed to relax and do exactly what you want to do. I picked up a new hobby of knitting this weekend and oh, did it keep me occupied. The rainy weekend in Concord was spent with my ball of yarn and the entertainment of the Moores. My current knitting goal is simply for a long winter scarf, but it'll be a miracle if that gets done. I am posting a photo of my progress and you can see that it is a process. My other photo is of a top Mom got me from The Odd Showroom in Portsmouth. This is a handmade piece by the owner, who titles her clothing, Amity Joy. I will wear this top this week in faith that I can someday make this for myself. Sweet Caroline

Hello, there. It is practically the weekend, and I couldn't be happier. I am planning to truck to Concord for the weekend, to relax and get some work done. The forecast says rain all weekend, so that calls for a lot of mandatory down time. Last night I attended the Toronto vs Red Sox game at the old Fenway Park. It was a nice night with the family and the atmosphere resembled a little community. It would have been great to walk out of the park to all the madness 2 years prior at the World Series. I can't imagine what kind of nonsense went on then. All the more, my photos today are from my evening. There were, as any other baseball game, numerous little boys insisting endless amounts of food. :) As for the campus life goes, I can't complain. In Architecture we are starting our Kitchen & Bath project which I am oh-so excited about. The dining halls are offering me sushi numerous times throughout the week now. Life's good. Brrrrr.....its cold.

I guess you could say I am a trooper or just lucky I'm not sick. Quantum Nucleotides saved me. My weekend in Maine was well worth the cold and one I'll never forget. Friday night as we pulled into the campsite we were told it was to get around 20 degrees over night. And boy, did it ever. The scenery was unbelievable and I'm disappointed to say I didn't take many photos. A few highlights were: seeing my first moose, paddling through a 40 foot wave, and seeing trees as far as your eye can go. I hope I get to experience it all again, but this time with the ones I love. As for what is new in Durham, there isn't much to put on the table. A week full of exams and work, I can already say I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend in Concord. The hunt begins soon for my Halloween costume. Salem awaits The Birds at the end of the month. Have a good week, y'all. Look now

As I anxiously await 5:30, I figured I'd post something short and sweet. Mainly so I could put up pictures of.....Fallll! On my quick trip to Concord yesterday, I just had to stop along the way a capture some of the wonderful colors. I hope you enjoy! I am about to depart to Maine and am very excited. White water rafting on the Kennebuc River for me tomorrow! It is going to be very cold, I've been told. I am prepared with the right wear, but I don't know how I will handle it. My adrenaline will get me by, I suppose. We are camping on the site, and are assigned to be there at 8:00am. Wish me luck on this epic journey of mine. Who knows where it will take me. Fighting off a bear at night, swimming furiously to the raft, or as Mom put it, lost in the woods. I'll report back soon after the trip. Have a good weekend all. Love, JO

Breaking New Grounds

'Breaking New Grounds,' is the coffee shop I have visited many times recently. I have found a latte that can take place of my usual tahitian vanilla for now. My week is flying by me, without any time to look back. I hope you all enjoy the new improvements to my blog; I enjoyed editing it. With my trip to Maine coming up this weekend, getting everything done before hand has been complicated. It'll all work out though. I leave Friday with 10 other N.H. Outing Club members to the Kennebuc River in northern Maine. We will camp out Friday night, then raft all day on Saturday, and make it back to Durham on Sunday. Oh, what an adventure it will be. I'll try and snap some shots. Here are a couple photos I took on campus today. (The Little Red Stony Wagon and one of the few trees that has changed.) It was cloudy, but had a nice feel to it.
