i want to stand as close to the edge as i can without going over. out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can’t see from the center.” k.v.

The first two photographs were taken by eric kvatek, featured on Free Peoples blog on November 16. His website is just amazing, even if he does shot old cars and trucks a lot! I just threw this collage together for the hell of it. Love this fall weather.

The Flaming Lips - The Best Of cd case/cover
fall
FP lace top and dress
I've been at a steady pace with school and work that I've come find myself excited over the smallest things. Successfully making two delicious dishes in one week, heading to the apple orchard for fall goodies, and putting on new attire is just a few simple things I've look forward too. I recently was shown the film, The Last Waltz, and can't get my mind of all that music. What great musicians they all were. I must download albums of The Band, or better yet I'll look into purchasing a record of theirs. For now I'll enjoy October.

live the life

A place for fine ideas....blogs. I search for inspiration throughout my day,
and hope for an adventure comes my way.
Old pictures frames can serve many purposes. Just put them to use.
The Flaming Lips made it to The Pageant in StLou.
After seeing them perform, the creation of my first cd case design began.
Am hoping my portfolio review goes over well.
Whats better than Fall??

Monday

I am back from Loufest.

St.Louis has finally established a music festival! It was held in Forest Park this past weekend and attracted all ages. I had not been to Forest Park in awhile, if ever, and absolutely loved it. It's filled with beautiful lawns, museums, and something called the Jewel Box (that holds endless amounts of plants). Unfortantly, there was no time left in our visit for all of that, but we will hopefully return soon.
During the two days of Loufest, we were able to see a wide variety of music. The headliners being: Built to Spill and Broken Social Scene on Saturday evening, and Jeff Tweedy solo and She&Him on Sunday night. With other bands playing throughout the day, some even local, it was all around great music. Good friends and a pleasant atmosphere is what I would call a good weekend, although I did miss a good friends birthday.
It's back to reality now, at the start of the week. School and work will fulfill my week, but I will hopefully squeeze a quick trip to the State Fair in. So, heres to an enjoyable week ahead.

my nest.

I still have some wall space to fill, but for the most part it's all just wonderful. I was just itching for this place ever since high school graduation. I have my own space for once, something very long overdue. I am thankful to be here and couldn't be happier. I do wish some of my dearest friends were right next door and that I had bird/cat/dog in my presence, but I will make do just fine. There are plenty of good spirits all around.

heres to something new.

When a person moves from one destination to the next, adjustments have to be made. Changes in his or her environment can be hard to adapt too, or at least I believe so. At the start of the summer I trucked me and my belongings back home to Southern Illinois to currently station myself in Carbondale. It was the biggest change of scenery I have yet to make. Instead of downtown shops and sailboats in view, I now adapt to the southern twang and the Shawnee Forest.
I have now attended three universities and hope to keep that number, although I already have ants in my pants after only three months in town. I do intend to graduate here sooner or later, but make many traveling experiences throughout my journey. Australia is already booked and two trips west are under way.
I am glad to have my blog back in action. I feel as though I will try and write more this semester with photos tacked along side. With my diary and sketchbooks for class, I have many creative pieces to keep up. I am not sure what hit me this summer; I hadn't one diary entry nor blog entry. Something left me, but it's back in full swing. So....here's to something new.

Road trips are for ones willing to risk. Getting back home and starting something new.

Lets see where this can take us.
Meet Fritz. He's a traveling man.
The friends at Me and Ollies.
See you down the road.
